Christmas

Christmas!

We had a wonderful and very busy Christmas. We went back to WI for a week before the holiday. The kids were spoiled rotten by our family. We were able to enjoy the snow and go sledding. My blood is thin and I was happy to return to 65 degree weather in TX.

During this time of year I am always amazed at the strength and faith of the families I care for in the NICU, both past and present. It is hard to believe that some of the first babies I cared for are now 10 years old! Have I really been a nurse for that long? I also continue to cherish relationships of those whose children did not make it. It is their faith and strength that amazes me the most. One of the best gifts I received this year was a card from a current patient. Their compliments and thanks mean the world to me and remind me why I continue to do what I do. Though I don't work as much as I used to it continues to be a huge part of me. Please remember all NICU families in your prayers this holiday season.

Let it snow, part II

Jack wanted to sit in the bouncy seat whenever Nicholas was or wasn't in the seat. Drew were such great helpers as I unpacked :) Drew had a nice look with the airplane blanket wrapped around his head!

Let it snow!!

We went to WI over the weekend. I traveled by myself with the boys. It went well. Drew has become such a good little traveler and Jack, well he is in training. Drew got to play in the snow in WI. He really wanted to make a snowman but it just wasn't the right snow. Drew and Jack met their cousin Nicholas. Jack finally got a haircut. I was hanging onto his little curls as long as I could, but it was time. He really looks like a little boy now!

More Thanksgiving

One last picture for how the little ones had Thanksgiving dinner!

Thanksgiving

One more birthday picture. Drew enjoying Jack's cake. Drew having lunch with Audrey and Caroline.
Daddy and Jack on Thanksgiving.
We had Thanksgiving at the Brautigam's house. They men fried three turkeys. We all had a great time. Except for Chad and Erin because we left their house a disaster!
The kids had so much fun I couldn't get anyone to stop moving for a picture. Drew had his turkey hat on ALL DAY.

November

The first picture is from when Avery and Carter spent the night. Deb and Jason went away for a night and we had all four kids at our house. Next we had Drew's birthday party. He had a blast. He LOVED his fire truck cake. Jack didn't care for his birthday cake. He gagged on it!!

Nicholas

I was able to go to visit my new nephew, Nicholas, all by myself one weekend. It was so wonderful to meet him and see Kim and Evan in action as parents.

Halloween

Drew had a blast on Halloween. You can see how exhausted he was in the last picture of the night. He even said he was tired! Big news at our house is that Drew is out of his crib!!!! Finally in the big boy bed.

October

A few pictures of Jack and Drew. Jack is now walking about half of the time and is getting his first tooth. Drew is in a picture with his friend Alex from school. He has two good friends at school, Alex and Logan. This is a picture with Alex at Logan's birthday party.

Sorry it has been so long...

Jack and Aunt Marge
Trying to get a picture of Drew, Jack and Spencer

Sorry we haven't posted in a while. Things have been really busy. We went to the zoo with the Hercun family. We had a visit from the Pogo family. Mike, Marge, Michael, Lydia and Spencer came to visit us. It was wonderful to have them here. The boys had fun together. Tom has been traveling and the village has been helping me take care of the boys. We have had so much help from the Hercun family and various babysitters. The weather has finally cooled here. It was 60 today and they were actually talking about the wind chill on the news! We saw someone in our neighborhood sporting a ski jacket!!! Drew didn't want to wear pants, just shorts. It felt so good to wear a jacket. I had a great mom moment today. We had to get out of the house early this morning and I was really tired. We got some breakfast and I got a nice latte. As I was loading the stroller back into the car it hit my drink, which I had only taken one sip from, and spilled it all over my bumper! Now my car is sticky and smells like chai tea! At least the smell makes me feel like I had my drink. I had a good laugh. I have a few good videos to post, they will follow.
